Daily activities

Leeah and I spend Monday and Fridays together while everyone is at work or school. I love it. It is great to be able to see her every week and see her changing and growing.

New Crafts

I have been taking alot of my craft items to a little shop down the street from my house. This is one item I took the other day. It is a chicken wire covered crown. Fashioned with chicken wire as a form and covered with vintage ribbon, lace, material, and grama's jewelry.

Christmas postponed

Because of the weather we had to postpone our birthdays and Christmas. Annie's birthday was missed because she was busy having her beautiful little angel Leeah on her birthday Oct 26, 2008. Jade missed her birthday because of the snow on Dec.16, 2008. We kept putting Christmas off day after day and finally had our Christmas dinner and festivities on New Years Eve. Jana's birthday was missed because of floods on Jan 6, 2009. Tara's birthday was let go because everyone was so tired on Jan 12, 2009. Whew. I do have some pictures for your viewing pleasure. We did finally get to celebrate and it was wonderful.

Christmas Time

Our Holiday Season was pretty eventful this year. Tara and her family were stuck in their neighborhood because of the heavy snows and below zero weather and a broken water main. For 2 or 3 weeks they had to trek up and down the hills near their home in Sudden Valley because they had no water and had to get out to take showers and get food and try and go to work etc. They had to dig their cars out every day several times a day. Once that was over the floods came and my neighborhood was covered in a rushing river in front of my house and kayakers rowing all around in water flowing over what use to be our streets. It was touch and go for 24 hours one day when the water was looking very much like it would come up to our front door. The police told us to pack up and find another place to stay for the night. We kept watching the water and didn't end up leaving but friends helped me get all my things of importance up on counters and tables. I slept in the living room near the front door with a bag ready to go. It was very scary. here are a few shots of the flood.
