Happy Thanksgiving

We spent the day with Brett, Stephen, Tara, Jade, Leeah, and Stephen's Mom & Dad and my friend Cynthia. We had our dinner at Brett and Stephen's house. It was so beautiful. Everyone brought a dish and we had a wonderful meal. We all held Leeah and took lots of pictures. I forgot my camera so you'll have to wait for the T-day picts.

Visit to Leeah's house ~ One month old

I spent the afternoon with Tara, Annie, Jade and Leeah, and Grt Grampa Chuck and Grt Grama Jana. I held Leeah for at least 5 hours and spent time talking with Jade while she played a funny video game. I had dinner with them and got to feed Leeah twice and take pictures. Annie and I discussed her baby book and some sketches I'd made. We tried on all the beautiful clothes cousin Kendahl sent to Leeah. Well, not all, but lots. Leeah loved the pictures cousins Kyra, Jaykah and Bristahl sent. I can't wait to put a pencil and a paint brush in her hands.

Heritage Memory books Madeline

I've been working on Memory books for Madeline and Mom and Nana's side of the family. It has been a great experience. It's taken a long time and tedious organization. And I am enjoying it emensley. I am learning so much about my family and where we all came from. Susan is doing books for her family too and we are having a great time sharing as we go. We've been sending boxes of do dads to add to our pages to each other. It's like Christmas every package that comes. Here are a few of the first pages of Nana's family book.

Salmon At the Bay

This past summer I entered a painting in an exhibit down at a local restaurant (Boundry Bay Brewery) It was for the Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association. The theme was Water, Salmon and the relationship to people. We all brought our paintings and sculptures down to the bay and they hung them all  and then they had the greatest Salmon Bake and Barbeque in the Beer Garden. With Irish music and singers. They were great and the meal was wonderful. At the same time this was happening their was an artist reception in the restaurant so the public could talk with the artists. It was great fun.

Monday trip to Canada 11/10/08

Lil Weber and I drove up to White Rock BC to see friends, have lunch and learn how to do wax art. What fun. I'd never done it before. What a treat.

I haven't been able to get over to see Leeah. I've had a bug or two and don't want to give her any. I hope to be going tomorrow.

Auntie Jade Marie (Leeah's namesake)

Angelina Christine

Here is Momma !

Leeah Jade Christine Atkinson 10.26.08

She was born at 8:55 on October 26, 2008 (her momma's birthday) She was a month and a half early and weighed 4 1/2 lbs. She was so tiny. They let her come home after 2 weeks. She was getting stronger and was eating good, so here she is. I took pictures at the hospital her first 4 days, but none since. She had to go down to Providence hospital in Everett with momma (Annie) to the Premie unit. I am going over to see her tomorrow (Tues. Veterens Day) and take more recent pictures. Here she is., the love of our lives.

Seriously Sidetracked

Hi Everyone,
Sorry about the empty space for the past several weeks. I have been under the weather.
I am now back at it again. New ATC's to develop, Paintings to get ready for Middle School Art Exhibit in June. Scanning, Photoshop work, printing and building scrapbook pages for 3 scrapbooks for my Aunt Madaline (my mom's sister). So far it's taking alot of time scanning and work in PS. But the pages I've been able to finish are looking pretty good for a first attempt.

I'm also trying to save the $ I will need to go visit my Aunt this summer so we can finish this together. Hopefully we can get it done this year.

I am searching genelogy sites to help with some of the dates and some background information. Another new adventure...since I've never done this before either.

Thursday Thoughts

I just finished my beginning card making class. Lots of tips and tricks and play with ideas for cards, ATC cards, tags, postcards, etc, etc. My students are getting a kick out of it. We have tea, munchies and let it flow. Hmmmm!
Tonight I'm off to a Stamping workshop. Never to old to learn. HEY?
See you tomorrow.

Monday Musings

3:55 am
I guess I missed Sunday altogether. Opps! Spent some time putting together a book to display my ATC's. I filled one up for the years 2004 to the end of 2007. Onward and upward. I'll be trying to learn what I'm doing with this blog site. I'm clueless at the moment. Ciao for now.

Goof Off Saturday

9am
It was great to have Jade and Tanisha out in the living room under the blankets, one watching TV and the other snoring softly. I don't get to see my granddaughters very much these days as the teenage bug has bitten them, but once in awhile they bring friends over for a sleep over. It's Saturday morning and it's just started to snow. The flakes are as big as silver dollars and floating rather than falling. Today is the ATC trade in town. The girls worked really hard on their cards last night. We all sat at Grama's dining room table/studio art table and got totally engrossed in our work.
12 Midnight
Our trading session was great as usual. All the regulars were really happy to have the girls there to trade with. After the trade we sat and solved the worlds problems.
