Leeah at Grama's art table

Leeah will be two on October 26th. Annie will be 18 on October 26th.
Here are several pictures of Leeah at my art table
and at other times when I take care of her at my house.

Here she is flexing her muscles.

She didn't like her new toy worm (Jade named it Melman???)
She couldn't figure out how to make it gooooo!!
Once she did, she was a crazy lady!!

Here we are on the porch with the ladies in the bldg just
gossiping, drinking tea and waving at the cars.

Mama Annie after bath.

Leeah on Melman after a few try's. Getting the hang of it.

Leeah's sleeping area at Grama's

Leeah like a big girl at grama's art table.
This was an hour and a half session, non stop.
When ever she picks out a color, she picks out one for me
and she expects me to draw with her. :O)

All business.

This day she was all over the electric pencil sharpener. She actually sharpened about 30 of my art pencils. Whew!! She giggled uncontrollably every time she heard the noise of the pencil going in the sharpener.

Creative Cups for Cancer 2010

I made a new pin cushion from my great grandma's old one. She used it, grama used it, mom used it and now me. It was falling apart, so I spruced it up a bit. :O)

Well, I just finished my bra design for the Creative Cups for Cancer 2010 Benefit and Auction for Breast Cancer. Many hours and very sore fingers and hands. I had fun though and especially when it brought back memories of mom and I sewing together. I'm so grateful she was so patient with me. She taught me so much. I am able to make my living as an artist because of my mom and dad and my extended family being so supportive all my life. I loved going through the material and the old photos. I can remember exactly which piece of clothing was made from which fabric. (as an aside. . . I can't seem to find my keys half the time or where I left my glasses or my coffee cup. . . hmmmm

Art spaces around the house.

Just below are a number of different yarns
and string I use as hair for my Whimsies.

Here are a few areas where I work in my home. I have them spread out all over the house so I can move around and get more exercise.

This is a Whimsie after molding and sculpting and baking.
Getting ready to put arms and legs on the body.

Whimsie after painting the face and hands and feet and attaching arms and legs. I usually eyeball the pattern for each outfit. I hand sew each piece of clothing.

This is my favorite chair in my living room. I use it for just about everything.
I use it to relax, read, watch TV, sleep and work on art projects.

This is my kitchen table, dining room table, art studio table etc. etc.

Picts of my favorite "Little Person" & new Whimsies

I've been spending the last few weeks working on these dolls and getting ready to start my project for "Creative Cups for Cancer" 2010.

Abigaile ran away from home at 16. The aristocracy was more than she could handle. Poppy and Mumsy would faint if they knew what I was doing.

Scooter has pink hair and JJ has yellow hair. JJ sells lemonade on the sidewalk in her front yard. She is saving her money for a brand new bike. Scooter is only two years old, but still wants to sell lemonade with her sister. She dreams of buying herself an ice-cream sundae.

Lucy loves slumber parties, chick flicks, pizza and her favorite pillow.

Morgan is a jester in the high court. His job is to perform for the Kings many guests.

Little Leeah brushing her teeth at Grama Lynn's house. She mostly likes to suck the toothpaste out of the brush. She's getting the idea though.

Birthing Whimsies

For the past 3 or 4 years I've been making a collection of dolls I call Lynnsies Whimsies. I've been playing with faces, designs, hair, clothing, paints and clays and they continue to change slightly every time I birth a new Whimsie. Here is the newest. Her name is Ruby and she is a nanny in charge of twin girls 5 years old. Their parents travel for work and take Ruby and the girls with them on all their trips. Definitely her dream job!!
All my Whimsies have names and stories to go with them.
I am making a new Whimsie caricature of a friend who is trading her art with me for her doll. What a great deal. She will be in the blog as soon as she is "birthed" They are for sale, trade, barter, auction and gifts. I have an open house usually in the fall, so if you're close by, drop in.

Organizing!!!

Image of a "lonely princess" for my June ATC trade.

Acrylic's done during college

A customer asked me to draw a picture of a Sasqwatch eating chocolate drops. He was selling them and calling them Sasqwatch drops. I thought he was kind of cute.
Susan and I were emailing one time and I accidentally signed my name "Crappin Sis" instead of Scrappin Sis. It stuck and I did a cartoon of us from a photo we had taken of us in front of a carnival mirror.

Caricature of Jade and Annie at 4 and 6 1/2
Series of Leeah watching TV

I've been taking care of Leeah a lot more than I have for awhile. I just love to have her here. She's better than a full feature film. I love to watch her grow. I think I've taken thousands of pictures of her already and she's only 19 months.
Here are a few of the "punkin girl". She is watching a few of her favorite "Sprout TV programs" Kipper, The Upside Down show and Clifford the Big Red Dog. Her mom knows all the songs, and I'm beginning to hum them around the house. Hmmmm!
I've spent the past 3 weeks organizing my photographs from a lifetime! And, I spent the past 6 weeks organizing my artwork (as much as I could get on my scanner or take decent shots of with my digital. I'm putting them on CD's so I can pass them around to family. I forgot I did so much. Kind of overwhelming. It's so strange.....it makes me want to be more creative. My ideas are flowing. Here are a few of the oldies but goodies from yesteryear.
